Safe Meetup Guidance
Version 0.1 · Last updated: August 24, 2026
Meet with joy, keep it respectful, safe, and consensual. Clanio lets users propose and coordinate meetups, but does not organize, attend, supervise, or background-check participants for any meetup. Every user decides for themselves whether to take part.
Quick checklist before a first meetup
- Meet somewhere public, known, and well-lit.
- Confirm in advance who's coming and what's planned.
- Tell someone close where you're going and with whom.
- Arrive and leave independently.
- Keep your phone charged and available.
- Don't share your address, ID documents, or financial info.
- Don't send money to people you met through the service.
- Remember a Match is never consent to contact, photos, or anything else.
- Leave immediately if something feels off.
- In danger, contact emergency services first, not Clanio.
The Hebrew version governs
This page is a summary. The full 21-point guidance document is written and maintained in Hebrew.
Read the full guidance in HebrewChoosing a place: for a first meetup, pick somewhere public, well-known, well-lit, and staffed, with other people around and cell coverage. Avoid a private residence, an isolated area, or a private car. Mentioning a venue inside Clanio is never a safety recommendation from us.
Money: never send money to someone you met through Clanio based on a story, promise, or pressure — be especially wary of requests for a deposit, a loan, or an "emergency." Never share passwords, verification codes, or account details.
Alcohol: never pressure anyone to drink. Keep your drink with you, know your limits, and plan a way home that doesn't depend on someone who's been drinking. Being drunk is never consent, and never excuses violating someone else's boundaries.
Consent: a Match, chat, meetup invitation, or prior participation is never consent to meet, share contact details, be photographed or recorded, physical contact, or romantic or sexual activity. Consent must be free, clear, informed, and ongoing — and can be withdrawn at any moment, even after saying "yes" earlier. Silence, hesitation, fear, or intoxication are not consent.
You never owe an explanation for ending a conversation, declining an invitation, cancelling, leaving a meetup, or changing your mind at any point.
Longer trips, hikes, camping: a first meetup in a remote location or overnight activity carries added risk — meet publicly first before planning something isolated or extended. Whoever proposes the activity must describe it honestly and not hide material risk.
In an emergency
Clanio is not an emergency service and cannot guarantee a real-time response — don't wait for a reply from us if you're in immediate danger. Contact emergency services first: Israel Police 100, MDA (ambulance) 101, Fire and Rescue 102. You can still report to Clanio once you're safe.
"Verified" status only confirms an email or phone was verified — never a government ID check, background check, or a guarantee about someone's safety or conduct. Keep exercising judgment even with a verified badge.
